What makes Grenada a popular investment location?

Grenada is a stunning island country located in the West Indies, famously known as the “Island of Spice” due to its thriving spice trading industry.

The country is celebrated for its unspoiled natural beauty, featuring pristine white sandy beaches, lush rainforests, breathtaking waterfalls, historic forts, botanical gardens, and vibrant coral reefs that include the world’s first underwater sculpture park.

Grenada also boasts a stable government, a strong local currency, and a growing tourism industry, making it an attractive destination for investors and visitors alike.

Guide to Grenada's Citizenship by Investment programme

The Grenada Citizenship by Investment Programme was launched in August 2013 to support the country’s economic development through foreign investment. It has since become a popular choice for global investors seeking to enhance their family’s mobility and secure a reliable second citizenship.

With a minimum investment of just $235,000, applicants can obtain Grenadian citizenship and enjoy a wide range of benefits. These include visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 140 countries worldwide, including the UK, Schengen Area, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

How to get Citizenship by Investment in Grenada

Investment options

Make a non-refundable contribution to the National Transformation Fund (NTF).

The NTF was established when the CBI programme launched in 2013. The aim of the NTF is to assist in boosting the economy of the country. Both the contribution and government fees are payable only once citizenship is approved.

The minimum contribution to the NTF is $235,000 for a Single Applicant for a family of up to 4. Further costs of additional dependents apply of $25,000/$50,000 on a per-person basis. An additional cost of $75,000 is applied when adding a sibling.

Other costs, such as application fees and due diligence fees, also apply.

Real estate investment

Investment into a government approved real estate project with a minimum investment amount of $270,000. An additional minimum non-refundable contribution of $50,000 applies.

Investors also have the opportunity to re-sell their investment through the scheme after a mandatory holding period, which is between 3 to 7 years depending on the project, without affecting their citizenship status.

For the avoidance of doubt, the revised pricing regime ensures that there will be no distinction in investment costs between a single applicant and a Main/Principal Applicant with up to three (3) dependents for the NTF option. Additionally, the NTF contribution of $235,000 comprises of a minimum of $200,000 to be retained by the government and an allocation of up to $35,000 to be paid as commission to Agents. Similarly, the Approved Project investment of $270,000 to be paid to the Developer’s Escrow Account is comprised of a minimum of $230,000 to be used towards project construction costs.
